Teachers can create groups in D2L to allow content to display to only certain students. Groups can be created to accommodate different start dates (although D2L now automatically exempts all previous work for these students). Math/ELA may use groups for performance levels, while all courses can use groups to accommodate for SPED students or students with a modified work load.
To create a group, first click on TOOLS -- Groups.
Next, click New Category to add a Category of Groups, such as your different Start Date Groups. The students can also see group names, so keep this in mind when naming groups.
Be sure to put the number of groups you need in the appropriate field and make sure students cannot auto enroll (to ensure they are in the correct group).
To enroll users in a group for each week, you can click the dropdown arrow by the Group Category and click Enroll Users.
(This is a quick way to enroll multiple users that are in different weeks, as it brings up all weeks for all users at once. You can just select the group you want each student to be in, and it is all located in one place).
OR, you can select the individual week you want to enroll users.
Click Enroll Users, then select the students you would like to enroll in that group.
