If you have not already created a grade item click the [add a grade item] hyperlink. Note: Make sure to scroll down and change the point value, it is always defaulted to 10 points in the gradebook. The point values in the quiz will not override this. You must indicate the point value in the grade item. If you saved the grade item and did not change the point value it can be corrected by going to GRADES - Manage Grades.
If you have created a grade item choose it from the drop-down menu.
Make sure you click the checkbox “Allow automatic export to grades”. If this is not checked scores will not move to the gradebook once graded.
"Allow attempt to be set as graded immediately upon completion" should be selected for all computer graded quizzes. If there are written response questions or any other question that must be graded by the teacher, DO NOT check this box. Doing so will show students a grade based only off the computer graded questions and will cause unnecessary panic.
Change your Attempts Allowed.
If giving multiple attempts, you have the option to check "On new attempts, only allow answers for previously incorrect questions".
Click Save and Close.
Double check that you have made the quiz visible to students once finished on the Restrictions tab.
Click TOOLS -- Manage Quizzes. Find the quiz you wish to modify and click the drop down arrow. Click Edit.
Move through the appropriate tabs and make changes as needed. To edit questions you must click the Add/Edit Questions button from the Properties tab. Clicking the question link from the Properties tab, will only allow you to preview it.
If you would like to edit the point value of each quiz question, click Edit Values from the Properties tab. Then change the points in the Points column. Here you can also mark questions as mandatory to answer and/or mark as a bonus question. Once you are finished, click Save.
This allows you to change options for multiple quizzes at once. You can rename quizzes, change the number of attempts, assign a category and hide from users.
