Announcements are posted to course homepages to communicate with students. A welcome announcement should be added before the first day of school. Week-at-a-glances (WAGS) will also be posted every Monday morning for all courses. Click here for more information about the WAG.
An announcement can also be created and seen based on circumstance if you choose. For example, congrats to only students who made an A on an exam, reminder for students who have a missing assignment from the previous week, encouragement for students who are not passing etc. This allows you to individualize announcements based on specific groups of students for instruction and motivational news. For more information on conditional releases click here.
Since emails will be used less frequently to communicate with students, announcements that are conditionally released are necessary to remind students what work they need to complete.
Click Class Home on the course menu bar. Click the drop-down arrow next to Class Announcements.
Then select New Announcement.
Enter a Headline, then enter your message and any pictures, Gifs or Bitmojis into the Content box.
Enter a Start Date and time.
Click Publish when finished.
