Birds

We saw many species of birds during the trip and tried to photograph everything we could. The photographic results/quality for each bird vary considerably of course. Sometimes they stuck around for a proper portrait only a few yards away in good light. At most other times the light was difficult, with wind and rain, birds that seemed impossibly small in the viewfinder, present for only a fleeting glimpse or rendered out of focus for one reason or another. Nevertheless, we were able to catch 'record' shots of many of the birds we saw and these are arranged by family alphabetically.

There are likely to be identification errors in these pages, which hopefully will be corrected in due course. There are also omissions from and additions to Johnny's 'official' list of observed species, again hopefully more of the gaps will be closed.
