In response to the Covid 19 pandemic, actions taken by governments around the world resulted in a significant and widespread down-turn in the global economy. An unprecidented reduction on air travel and tourism was one of consequences. Costa Rica is heavily dependent on revenues from eco-tourism. With tours like the one we experienced and have described in these pages being cancelled or put on hold, the national economy and livelihoods of those that live there was no doubt be hit hard. Our hearts go out to the all of the people there.
With this in mind, we are especially grateful and very much appreciate the experience we had in Costa Rica in January.
We sincerely hope that as many as possible here in the UK and elsewhere across the world are able to stay safe and well during these difficult times and that things return to an acceptable normality as soon as possible. - Pura Vida!
