Before Super Smash Bros. and Punch-Out!!, there was the first Nintendo fighting game Urban Champion. Urban Champion had simple gameplay for a fighting game. The game had you playing as an Urban Champion who had to knock his opponent down a sewer hole. The Urban Champion not only can be seen in Origins, but in the NES-inspired fighting game Famicom Fighters.

Connection: Urban Champion and Super Mario Bros. are both well-known NES/Famicom video games.  Plus they're playable characters in another game that uses the MUGEN engine, Famicom Fighters created by King Pepe and MC Jimmy.
