Before reaching power levels beyond gods of destruction, Goku was a kid on the hunt for Dragon Balls (mainly the four star Dragon Ball Grandpa Gohan gave him) with his friends Bulma, Krillin, Yamcha, etc. He even trained with the Turtle Hermit Master Roshi to become even more stronger than he was.
