Name: Miwa
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Position: #1 Gym Leader, Andon Town. Bug Tamer
Hometown: Azalea Town, Johto
Appearance: Miwa has medium length dark brown hair and sky blue eyes, brought out by her pale skin. Being slightly shorter than average height, this combined with her slender build, results in her often coming off as frail and has on at least two occasions lead to her opponents dismissing her as a rookie fresh out of the Academy and underestimating her.
Personality: Miwa... where to start? Miwa is quite smart, and she knows it. However, she tries not to let this inflate her ego, as she has seen other trainers that have went through the same thing. Miwa is a very calm, reserved and calculating person, although she is not above sarcasm. She prefers to observe what goes on around her before leaping into the fray.
She will adapt and change what she shows of her personality, showing only what she feels will not leave herself vulnerable. To most, she is an enigma, as they just can't tell what her genuine personality is. Miwa enjoys following someone around simply because she wants to see what they will do. She enjoys picking apart and psycho-analyzing people by observing their actions, and dislikes superstitious people, because 'superstitions veil the eyes and cover the truth'.
On the inside though, Miwa is a kindred soul, but she does not show this actively. She will go out of her way just to help one of her friends, of which there are only a few, as gaining her trust is, frankly possible, but extremely hard. One thing that can be seen consistently though is her strong belief in fairness – she absolutely hates it when people gang up on others or cheat. If she witnesses this, she will follow the people who did so, waiting for the best moment to strike and beat them down to the best of her ability.

Name: Leith
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Birthplace: Blackthorn City, Johto
Current Location: Viridian City, Kanto
Rank: Trainer
Occupation: Viridian Gym Leader
Battle Style: Goes with his gut and thinks on his feet; if he has time to prepare for his opponent, he comes up with a strategy. These strategies tend to be free flowing and adaptable to change.
Appearance: Vivid bright jade green eyes, shoulder length orange hair. He's got an average lanky athletic build, weighs about one hundred and twenty five pounds. He stands at five foot six, but has the promise of more height by the time he stops growing. For now he was in that coltish phase, long limbs sorta gawky, that the young and still growing get cursed with. Tends to wear whatever suits his current environment, with the emphasis of comfortable yet durable. The main thing he almost always never leaves behind is his trench coat, the outside is worn brown leather, but the inside has many pockets. He'll either pull back his hair into a short tail or let it down.
Personality: The first word that comes to mind in regards to Leith is that he is honest. He can lie, if he needs to, but usually doesn't either because he doesn't care or that lying would be a lot more problematic than just spitting it out. He even uses his honesty to the point of barely rude bluntness or sarcasm. Things tend to roll off him, but while he might seem to easily forgive, he doesn't forget and finds a way to pay the person back. He can go from animatedly boisterous, to serious and calculating. He'll give people chances, but doesn't for a moment trust them till he's sure their intentions are good.
The loss of his parents saw that he didn't take for granted the people he cared for. He tries not to fight and if he does, he tries to make up for it. While he won't show it, he has a problem being alone, as in he doesn't have anyone with him including Ninetales and usually fidgets. So if he is waiting in a Pokémon Centre, he's usually tapping his foot or drumming his fingers, if he is by himself. The sight of blood usually makes him incredibly depressed and depending on the situation that caused it, angry.
He can be reckless, rushing in to help someone if he sees them in trouble, even if it means he'll get hurt himself. He can be stubborn, not giving up till he is satisfied, but never to the point he puts his Pokémon or friends in danger. He is practical and thrifty, he doesn't like to waste anything. He likes the outside more than the confines of indoors, wild areas versus tamed cityscapes. He is at his most comfortable lost on some back end trail than cooped up where only skyscrapers touch the blue of above.
Caves and the sounds of falling rocks scare him, caves make him claustrophobic and falling rocks simply terrify him. He tries to avoid mountains or, if he can't, he spends the entire time scared and very eager to get it over with.
Hobbies: Because he is a practical sort, he tends to do what he can to make money. This usually means he'll find someone lost and have them hire him to fix the problem. Otherwise he'll hire on as a guide. He'll hunt down herbs, berries, if it has to do with being out in nature, he'll happily do it.
He likes to read, a lot, he isn't picky either. If he ends up in a new place, he buys a tourist guidebook and then goes looking for whatever else pertains to that area.
Something both him and his Ninetales have in common is their love for food, mainly sweets. He likes to think of himself as a novice food connoisseur and finds a way to put them in a position to taste new things, preferably if it means he won't have to pay for it.
He has a penny whistle that he carries with him that he loves to play. If he can't find ‘side’ work when he needs it, he'll sit down some place and play for whatever people are willing to give him.
Likes/Dislikes:

-Mountains/caves
-Crowded cities

History: His earliest memories were of being carried in a sling as his mother and father explored. He grew up surrounded by nature and the Pokémon therein, his parents telling him all about those temporary playmates. When he was three, a Vulpix was given to him by his father. The Ice type was the baby to the elder man's Ninetales and so the Vulpix became the closest person to him aside from his parents. They travelled all over the place, learning all sorts of things and seeing so much. When he was ten his parents were killed in a rock slide, the only thing that saved him and his friend was his mother's Pidgeot taking him to the nearest town.
The bird had been injured herself and the combination of injuries, the flight and heartsickness saw her dying not long after he was safe. All that was left were his memories and Vulpix. He'd stayed in an orphanage for a year while family was looked for, but he was miserable the entire time. He didn't fit in with the other children, fought often with them and the adults. The only one who could comfort him at all was his Vulpix. Eventually an uncle was found, his mother's brother who he'd never known existed. The man and his father didn't get along and as a result him and his mother became estranged.
He didn't have any idea on how to take care of some orphaned boy-child, but he was family so he owed the kid to try. Fuchsia had been a huge adjustment for him. He hated it and longed to be free of the endless noise and towering structures. His uncle owned a book store, he grew to love books and they were his only escape. For six long years he went to school, he studied, he worked in the store, he muddled along. The only thing that kept him from despairing was the idea that once he was old enough he could be free of it all and go back to wandering the world, just like his parents. He had grown to care for his uncle, but he could never love the city.
Maybe if they weren't in a big city he might have adjusted well, but that wasn't where he ended up. All the money he'd earned, either as a child or later working in the store, he saved. Reading books about wilderness survival, cooking, mending, even making clothing from the things he would later on hunt for food. Countless books on herbs, berries, all sorts of edible things had been his favourites. Eventually however, he would finally be able to go where his heart longed to be.

Name: Daikuma Watanabe
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Birthplace: Agave Desert, Orre
Occupation: Celadon Gym Leader
Appearance: The young man's navy blue hair is a stark contrast to his forest green eyes. His hair, despite being thick, is fairly straight, and therefore easier to maintain. His tanned skin represents his family’s origin. It's clear that the young man will grow to be strong of jaw and never wanting for height. His build is a tad heavier set than most boys his age, suggesting that he's very active (though genetics also come into play here).
Despite not being the type, he has been known to hit up the gym. Weight-lifting is a past-time of his, one he performs rather obsessively. He wants to be bigger and stronger than the older boys, mostly so he can show off his athleticism. Presently he stands at a fairly average height of 5'4". Aware that nothing can make him grow save time and good genes, Daikuma is left waiting. He is rarely found without a widespread grin on his face. His expressions are often goofy, giving a fairly decent indication of his character. Somewhat of an open book the boy is.
As far as clothing goes, it is common to find Dai in sports jackets. He tends to wear gym shorts, or board shorts, a lot of the time. Muscle tops, while not always a good fit, is something else he tends to wear. His feet are fairly large, presently a size 8. He tends to go through running shoes rather quickly given how hard he is on them. He loves to run and so he wears them down right quick. He loves his basketball shoes, wearing them only during gaming events. He gives the impression of putting a fair amount of importance on how a person looks, but really he just loves clothes and fashion. One day he wants a leather jacket, cause he's convinced they're the coolest things ever.

Daikuma is hard-pressed to earn the respect and acceptance of anyone and everyone around him. One could even go as far to say as he's doing his best to collect a fan base. He really wants to do all he can for others and doesn't seem to have it in his head yet that life isn't, entirely, a popularity contest. While he knows its what a person does, rather than what others think of them, that makes them truly good, Dai is indeed hung up on being popular. As a young man, it's understandable that he wishes to be well-liked.
With a hero complex such as he has, Dai, at times, finds himself in some trouble. He has little to no compliance with authority when he truly feels that his own opinions are superior. He only ever acts out in the belief that his actions will benefit others, but sometimes the young man’s eagerness has him unable to see the bigger picture. He wants to help, so much so, that he needs to take a step back and realize that those set in charge are there for a reason.
His life goal has always been to establish a reputation as a Pokémon master, and lead a team of his own, since he feels more than adequately ready. He spends eons of time speaking with older trainers, trying to learn as much from them as he possibly can. One could even say he’s a bit obsessed. Daikuma has the firm belief that becoming a trainer is the greatest honour he could ever have, and that sacrifices must be made in order to do so. He wishes to be a trainer, first and foremost.
Daikuma is slow-to-anger... most of the time, which tends to be one of the first things that his fellows notice about him. He does exceedingly well in stressful situations given his level-headedness and his delicate approach on matters. He often does his best to relate to the person who feels faulted, or most upset, and then afterwards goes into an explanation of what he himself believes. According to Dai, time, understanding, and a reasonable explanation, can fix any situation.
The boy loves to talk, so when given the opportunity, don’t expect him to shut up any time soon. Lectures are a particular favourite of his. Its in the event that someone is being mistreated, or that he feels the need to intervene for whatever reason, when his less than appealing hero complex presents itself. In such a circumstance he's both pushy and unlikely to back down. He hasn't quite come to understand the fact that he can't fix everything, nor is it always his place to. Some may, understandably, see him as naive.
Ultimately, Daikuma has strong protective instincts. He doesn’t take lightly to others being picked on or looked down upon due to their family background. He’s quick to defend those who aren’t willing, or are too shy, to defend themselves. He tends to get pushy with persecutors, and in the event of a brawl, depending on the circumstances, he’s not the type to back down. If a fight can be avoided, he’ll more readily take the peaceable way out. He knows that Pokémon trainers are meant to practice honour, after all.
This young man is not the type to judge based on appearances. His outgoing, and otherwise friendly personality, is shown to everyone. He doesn’t follow rumours or gossip, nor does he like to mesh with the types of people who start either. He’s a very no-drama, straightforward, kind of guy. Ask for the truth and you’ll get it. He has a strong disliking for nonsense, and lies. Even so, he’s willing to believe anyone once. Innocent until proven guilty is one of the codes he lives by, preferring justice to assumptions. He pays respect to any and all, seeing no reason not to.
His egotism is no secret, unfortunately. He tends to get carried away with his joking and teasing. He really is a big clown, and an enormous flirt. He’s not always the most tactful person, but he really means no harm by it. He enjoys bantering with others, usually in the early morn. He likes to think he’s charming, and good with the ladies, but who really knows. At least he has a positive attitude, and isn’t afraid to strike out. His response to being told off is to laugh, and continue on mercilessly teasing. He can’t help it, he really finds himself funny!
Brief history: Daikuma grew up in a small village in the Agave Desert of Orre. It was his father, who left the village when he was but a child, who came back to get him. He wanted more for his son and so he took him away to Celadon City in Kanto. It was at the age of thirteen that Dai was taken away. His mother, powerless to stop the boy’s father, watched the pair of them go.
At first Daikuma missed his home, and the more simple life his village led. It was difficult to learn the things that most children had naturally grown up with, such as wearing shoes on your feet and going to school. Grocery stores, and restaurants, were the most puzzling of all. Having come from a place where each and every meal was hunted for, and earned, Daikuma couldn't possibly imagine why people would want to be so wasteful. Needless to say the boy has fairly different views on life in comparison to most children his age.
It wasn't long before Daikuma made to fit in with his age group. An athletic boy, he came to fit right in with the jocks. He quickly picked up the various sports that were played in school and worked towards becoming an asset to his team. He stayed after school and practiced with the juniors and seniors. It wasn't long before he started going to the gym, having discovered several safe workout sessions for young men his age.
The boy got it into his head that he had to be popular. If he was popular, and well-liked, then he'd miss his home less. Pokémon frequented the desert village he'd once called home. They were a constant presence that enjoyed their freedom just as much as man. Therefore, the more Dai learned about Pokémon trainers the more he came to question their practices. However, it wasn't long before he decided that he wished to train Pokémon in his own way. He could never imagine forcing a Pokémon to do anything they didn't want to do, and so he promised himself he would never push his Pokémon too hard.
Daikuma focused on his studies, wanting to learn as much as he could about the culture he had been apart from. His father was a constant presence in his life, assuring the boy that he would have all that he desired as long as he was fair and worked hard. Dai learned early on that his kindness could, and would, be used against him by other kids. Not everyone was worthy of his trust and so he came to be careful as to whom he decided to call "friend."
