In the spring and early summer, wisteria is a long-lived vining vine with cascades of blue to purple blossoms that look stunning hanging from a pergola or archway. However, this vine grows quickly and aggressively, typically reaching 30 feet or more in length, and is known to be rather heavy. Wisteria vines will grow into whatever nook or crevice they can find, so don't put them too close to your house.
