When everyone asks him how he survived, he reveals that he’s been taking a magic pill that gives him nine lives—like a cat. Having taken about 11 pills, he’s had 99 lives in total. However, when his classmates start counting his deaths, they realize he’s down to his last life. In a panic, Danny tries to take another pill, only to find that Dorothy, Leslie, and Ashley have taken his last three pills. Dorothy, in particular, is furious that Danny, acting like a reckless daredevil, has been granted 99 lives while she’s stuck with just one fragile existence. Now, Danny is overly cautious about every little thing, waiting for Lon to gather the ingredients to make more pills. Meanwhile, Dr. Cates has concocted her deadliest scheme yet, and Dorothy, Leslie, and Ashley begin doing extremely dangerous stunts, knowing they can "walk it off" at least eight more times.
