What is Piney Island?
Piney Island is a term dedicated to the specific type of projectile point found in the Delaware Valley and Pennsylvania.
Consisting of a long triangular blade with a short, inward curving base, crafted using a random flaking method rather than other more orderly methods.
This type of point was made in the Middle Archaic period, which is around the year 4,000 B.C.

The most common varieties of material that this point is made out of is quartz, quartzite, argillite, and chert.
The average length of these points range around 60mm overall on average, with the blade itself averaging around 21mm.
