After conducting research into the negative effects of oil extraction and plastic pollution on the ocean, I was moved to create a piece that sheds light on the issue. Each year, countless marine animals suffer from pollution, yet their voices go largely unheard. To represent the diversity of species and sounds in the ocean, I carefully selected recordings of different marine creatures, ranging from dolphin clicks to whale moans. These sounds are then blended with the harsh sounds of oil extraction, symbolizing the destruction of the animals’ habitats.

Throughout the piece, the sounds of marine life are gradually overpowered by the sounds of drilling representing the suppression of animal voices amidst habitat destruction. My goal in creating this work is to shift the viewer's perspective on sound whilst also encouraging them to contemplate the impact of human activity on the ocean.

About the Artist

At the core of my artistic practice is a deep fascination with sound and the idea of escapism. I strive to transform sound into something that can be experienced audibly, but also physically and visually. Through my work, I aim to transport viewers to a space where they are free to explore their innermost thoughts and emotions.

In addition to sound, I also utilize a variety of visual techniques to create immersive environments. This may include the use of lighting, projections, or physical installations, all of which serve to create a sense of other-world-liness that draws the viewer deeper into the experience. My passion for techno music and culture plays a pivotal role in the style, atmosphere, and structure of my art. The repetitive, hypnotic beats and futuristic imagery of techno music serve as a perfect complement to the environments I create.

Ultimately, I believe that art has the power to change lives, and to create a more peaceful and compassionate world. It is my hope that I can create transformative work that challenges our assumptions and opens new possibilities for human connection.
