The intention of this project is to showcase images representing “Modern-day Addictions.” My vision was to take an uncomfortable concept and create an environment that invites conversation. My preference for creating artistic projects has always been photography, specifically digital cameras. Photography is limitless, allowing me to manipulate and enhance images as I wish. I created five different images, each one symbolizing a visual representation of a different addiction.  Using Adobe software, I'm able to edit my photos and cultivate alternative tones. Using digital drawing tools allows me to make a rather dark and heavy concept evoke more silliness. My hope for my art is to generate light-hearted conversation without barriers and judgment between strangers, friends, and family.

About the Artist

I perceive art as a quiet way to share a loud message. The purpose is to cultivate an experience that allows people to connect openly. I aim to inspire real conversation with raw, authentic perspectives. The goal is to encourage conversations about opposite views and contrasting elements and how they can complement each other. I hope to use the connections and experiences I gain from others to inspire art that makes people think and discuss what messages come through for them. I aim to create space for ideas and thoughts to be shared. One that approaches matters playfully, making the experience joyful and interesting no matter the notion.

Rather than directing all my focus to one specific medium, my goal is to work in the creative space. I have always been passionate about working in design, whether in fashion, advertisement, interior design, or media production. I love being able to explore a concept visually, being able to transform a space, experiment, and explore ideas while using design elements and principles to reflect certain tones, moods, and emotions. Just as I hope that my art inspires people, I equally gain my own inspiration from collaboration with others. I want to become a creative director who can conceptualize and manage the larger vision—working with all mediums to bring visions to life. Design is all about tying ideas together and framing them into a cohesive message. I intend to use my leadership skills to direct and delegate within a team. I will organize groups to collaborate to reach a common goal.

When creating projects, I aim to share concepts that are raw and authentic, occasionally including difficult and uncomfortable ideas and messages. My vision for my career is to work with brands to execute a visual representation of a concept that will be shared with the public. I plan to use my creative skills to generate light-hearted conversation without barriers and judgment between strangers, friends, and family. I'm always intrigued to get to know people and understand how life has shaped them. There are many different walks of life; conversing about those moments connects people, providing people with alternative perspectives. Art looks different to everyone, and that’s part of what makes it so special. I hope to create unifying designs that spark emotion unique to every individual but a commonality between them all nonetheless. I intend to work as an artist who is open-minded and challenges my ideas and skills. In doing so, I hope to encourage opportunities for people to revisit their perspective, to think beyond our typical frame.
