MFA One Acts is a one night only event sponsored by the UCLA Department of Theater in support of the MFA Playwrighting Candidates as a culmination of their first year at UCLA. Each one act play gets a staged reading on the MFA Ones bill, to each be performed back to back with different casts and stage managers. Sodomites is a one act play by Asher de Forest hilarious reimagining of the biblical story of Sodom in a sitcom-style lens centering on Lot's Wife. Through 80s inspired musical moments mixed with cheeky contemporary quips, Sodomites at its core asks the question: What did Lot's Wife see when she turned around?
This staged reading was my first time calling sound and lighting cues for production in a while as a Stage Manager. My responsibilities included managing the rehearsal room by calling breaks and writing up paperwork such as rehearsal reports and daily call sheets, as well as running our technical rehearsal and writing cues.
