The top floor serves as a multifunctional event space and provides hotel rooms for guests at the university. The floor features two large main event spaces and four smaller meeting areas. Restrooms are also available on this floor. The floor is equipped with three sets of stairs, one of which leads to the roof. For accessibility, there is an elevator that provides ADA access.
The hotel rooms that are provided on the second floor have not been updated since their original construction. Therefore, updating these areas as well as making them larger is a main priority. The meeting areas are also very congested so they will be opened up to be a more inviting space.
The hotel rooms were remodeled into three large, luxurious rooms for incoming visitors to MTU's campus. We relocated the south hallway in order to bring in more natural light to the area. We replaced the small meeting rooms with one medium size event space, one small size event space, and a casual lounge area to accommodate various party sizes and formalities. The bathrooms were also able to be expanded in order to meet the needs of the large groups of people that enter the area.
