Chapter 1: Product Quality Guidelines
As part of Marketplace's continuing efforts to ensure strict quality control on all our products, we will be stepping up our checks for expire items during receiving, picking or packing. In order to provide the best customer experience, we will also be implementing some actions to take against non-compliance, as sellers will need to be responsible for their products.
Please take some time to read through the incident-fee matrix as well as the minimum shelf-life guidelines for the following categories of products sold via FairPrice Marketplace.
The warehouse receiving team will reject the stocks immediately if the product expiry date from the date of receiving fails to meet the minimum shelf-life stated below.
Exceptions to the following guidelines will apply if seller has indicated a shorter minimum shelf-life via the exception handling form during SKU creation.
NOTES:
Expired SKUs are delisted with immediate effect and will be automatically reinstated after 2 weeks.
For sellers with 3 or more incidents in a month, their store will be hidden for 1 week.
All incidents will be tracked on a monthly basis and will be refreshed at the end of each month.
For minimum product shelf-life for fresh and frozen category products, please refer to the table below:
For minimum product shelf-life for pre-packed and other grocery category products, please refer to the table below:
For minimum product shelf-life for toiletries and healthcare category products, please refer to the table below:
For Deli, Fruits, and Vegetables that fall in the following categories/sub-categories, they will be subject to visual checks upon arrival at the warehouse. Items that fail the visual check will be rejected and returned to the seller.
🍌 Bananas
Due to the nature of the product, bananas are prone to bruising and quick ripening through the delivery journey. We highly recommend sellers to deliver bananas that are greener with traces of yellow (Picture 2-3) to aid in product quality control through the delivery process to our customers. Any banana deliveries that are more yellow than green (Picture 4-7), will have a much higher chance of getting rejected by the Warehouse Receiving team.
