Incidental find on a soil sample with Baeomyces rufus.
Brown crust with black apothecia. Apothecia pigmented with reaction to K (cinereorufa-green?) and C+ (red, gyrophoric acid). Diagnosis via exclusion on basis of chemical characteristics and comparison of ecology of the remainders (see Czarnota P. The lichen genus Micarea (Lecanorales) Ascomycota) in Poland 2007).
Multiple (10) apothecia were investigated, no spores or asci found.
