Spirobolidae

This small family of 7 genera in 3 sub-families is found only in North America, except for Spirobolus which is found in Asia. Six of the genera with upwards of fifteen species have been kept in captivity, and five of the six bred in culture successfully. While largely prolific, members of the family are in the small to mid-sized range in terms of size, and are usually variations on red, brown, black, white, and tan.
