Alcimobolus is a monotypic genus from Hispaniola represented by A. domingensis. It has been traded occasionally in Europe, though its place in the hobby is tenuous.
Specific care requirements are unknown, but it seems this species would benefit from being kept similarly to the more sensitive Anadenobolus sp. Being a spirobolid quality rotting wood in quantity is likely important to keeping and breeding this species. A. domingensis has been bred in captivity, but according to one report the die-off amongst early instars is very high.
Coloration is a greyish with reddish-orange banding. Antenna are an orange-brown color, legs reddish to dark pink.
