Andrognathidae

Andrognathidae is a family composed of 13 genera split into four sub-families with a global distribution. It is the only representative of the Platydesmida (platydesmids) in culture and its members are often characterized by their communalism, egg-guarding behavior in some species, the impressive densities they can be found in, and their hallmark flat, thin appearance, which with some imagination makes clear the meaning of the common name "noodle millipedes." Three genera have been credibly reported to be kept by enthusiasts, all three of which are possibly much more species-rich than current information lets on.
