Pseudodesmus

This small genus (further research suggests this genus may be more species rich than currently thought) comprised of five species is found from Nepal (2) to Thailand (3) to Laos (4) to Borneo. Currently all specimens that have been kept in captivity are unidentified to the species level. Captive breeding has not been verified.

Photos of specimens in the wild suggest that Pseudodesmus feed on fungal growths that have sprung up from rotting wood, and that they live in large, multi-generational colonies, but further information related to their lifestyle both in the wild and in captivity is unknown.
