When reading this page, you'll see examples of commands. Variables which are enclosed in [square brackets] are mandatory, whereas variables enclosed in <angle brackets> are optional. Do not include the brackets (irrespective of which type they are) when actually typing the command, replace them (and the content inside of them) with the actual value you wish to use. If you need any help, shoot me a message on Discord! :P
I ask that you set this channel just so we know which is your general chat channel. I have access to a command which allows me to broadcast to all general channels; to inform everyone of important bot-related news quickly. I don't overuse this, and only ever use this if I need to. Server owners are advised to follow my bot updates announcement channel which I have in my server. It is called #maxbot-updates and can be found under the "maxbot🤖" section.
The general channel is also used to announce new bot functionality. When the bot receives a major update, information about it is sent out via an embed that is sent to all servers. This, once again - isn't overused, and barely happens twice a month. Not every new update triggers this notification, only updates which may introduce some changes to existing functionality. These update information embeds are triggered manually, not automatically - to ensure they cannot spam anybody!
Command to modify: mmbot/config general_channel_id [Channel ID here]
The bot will ask for your Admin Role ID to help with moderation. For example, if one of your server members runs the mmbot/alert-admins command to alert the admins to an ongoing issue - it will be the role assigned to this variable which is mentioned. Furthermore, when somebody requests information about your server using mmbot/getserverinfo - your admin role will appear, prompting members to ask them for help if they're stuck.
Command to modify: mmbot/config admin_role_id [Channel ID here]
The leavejoin_channel_id is the channel which is used to send leave/join messages to. You can customize the leave/join messages, and turn them off, although (where they are enabled) they are always sent to this channel. See more about customizing the leave/join messages the bot sends by clicking here.
Command to modify: mmbot/config leavejoin_channel_id [Channel ID here]
This should be a channel only accessible by the administrators of your server. The bot will log a lot of what it does (including command executions, warnings, bans, deleted messages etc) in the console channel; and as such you should make sure that it is accessible to your administrators. When content filtering becomes available to general servers, it will also showcase content filtering warnings and similar inforamtion.
Command to modify: mmbot/config console_channel_id [Channel ID here]
Referred to in the commands as the induction channel, the rules channel is where you will store your rules. Handy because there is now a neat little icon that displays on your rules channel that Discord added at... some point? Anyways, your rules channel is the channel users are sent to in a leave/join message when you use the {RULES} tag. It should contain your rules really, and not much else as the rules should be the most obvious factor.
