Known issues with my App Tray software.
An error occurs immediately after starting the software, and the user is asked to generate a crash report. After doing this, the error name is "PlaceholderNotAvailable" under Operation Name "com.maxplayle.operations.getappinformation.prepareplaceholderimage.placeholderimageunavailable" -- you can check this information by opening the generated file with Notepad, or another text editing software, such as Brackets[] or Notepad++
This error is caused by the incorrect naming of a bundled file within the software download, this is unintentional - and follows a change in the naming scheme used for external files bundled with the application.
Fix this error:
Find the installation folder. The installation folder is the folder containing 'App Tray.exe', 'MPDeveloperFunctions.dll' and the 'resources' folder. It may also contain an 'icons' folder.
Navigate into the 'resources' directory.
Rename the file 'question_mark.png' to 'no_app_found.png'
The application will stop throwing errors on startup.
Occasionally, due to the fact a EULA hasn't been included within the app yet, the app will falsely detect that you have declined acceptance of a EULA, and will lock up, saying you need to re-download or contact myself. This is a procedure based on my EULA library, included in MPDeveloperFunctions.dll. However, because there is no EULA to accept, you wouldn't ever be able to accept it!
Fix this error:
Find the installation folder. This folder is the folder containing 'App Tray.exe', 'MPDeveloperFunctions.dll' and the 'resources' folder.
Deselect all files, and shift right click on the Windows Explorer window.
Select 'Open PowerShell Window Here' and type 'cmd' to the blue window that appears.
NOTE: On some older systems, it may say 'Open Command Prompt Window Here' - in which case you can just click on that, and you don't have to type 'cmd' into the prompt.
4. Type:
"App Tray.exe" --EULA:acceptMain
5. If done correctly, App Tray will print to the console the following text:
Please note: Developer Mode may or may not be enabled in your case, and the Build Number/App Tray Version will likely have changed.
I'm aware of this bug, and will fix it in the next update! I cannot offer a fix at this time, however. I need to change the code of the application - and I know what I have done wrong!
