Nobody, provided you use it respectfully and don't take the mickey.
That's more than likely because you don't have them yourself. Get the Server Owner to make you admin, then you will be able to grant Administrator permissions. It's worth noting that you will need the 'Manager Server' permission to add bots anyway.
Out of respect, yes - it's probably a good idea to, however if you don't, and they kick maxbot when it arrives, that's down to them, isn't it.
When I can, i'm a busy person - so updates are sometimes infrequent, but I try and update and add cool new stuff where I can!
At the moment, there's no way to do this. With that said, I'm in the process of implementing it now. (Check the status by clicking here)
Yep, just use the mmbot/add-compliment command. Bear in mind, however, when MaxBot is restarted (or power-cycled) your compliment will be no longer!
I've got a Wiki Article for setting up maxbot, paired with a YouTube video. See the wiki article here, or just go straight to the video.
Please do not rename MaxBot, it should remain the default at the default @maxbot name. If you change it; that's up to you - however don't complain to me (or any other developer) when it pings your entire admin team to tell you not to do it! (That notification is not configurable, don't even ask.)
Sometimes, we need to restart maxbot in order to keep things running smoothly. You know the good old "turn it off and on again" trick, that works here too. Sometimes we'll either push updated code, or need to restart to wipe a database or something. We can restart in two ways:
By killing the server process associated with maxbot (known to power-users as a "force restart"
By running a "soft restart", which is a command the maxbot team can use which will reset everything and restart the bot.
You will only get a notification if we use the latter option, the "soft restart". The notification serves as:
An apology for any issues, bugs, or glitches you've been encountering
An apology for the slight amount of downtime (maxbot doesn't respond to commands, or monitor content filtering whilst it is restarting - muted users will remain muted, however - apart from the short period of time where maxbot exchanges responsibilities with the new instance of the control software - however this usually isn't more than 5-7 seconds)
A reminder to report any issues you encounter. We cannot fix issues we don't know about. Please tell us about any bugs you encounter!
