App Tray is a small application I have written that allows people to "group" a few applications together that you commonly use, without cluttering your task bar. I recently ran into issues with my taskbar space, and I because I don't like it when the option to scroll across pages of icons in my taskbar appears, I thought I'd write a little app to sort that out. Whilst it doesn't modify the taskbar in any way, it pops up a simple window containing 10 customisable spaces for you to populate with icons you most commonly use. My personal use case for App Tray is to group my Adobe product icons. I use Adobe Products regularly, however they take up a ton of space on my taskbar, because there's six individual icons on it. So I thought it would be good to have a window, which can group your icons together.
App Tray is an extremely small program, not even requiring an installation to install. Below is a list of the files you will need to download in order to use App Tray.
The total for the newest version (as of Monday, 6 April) is 120.84 kilobytes. An extremely small amount of storage (0.12084 MB).
The resources folder contains a simple .png file, which acts as a placeholder for any slots which haven't been populated. The placeholder is a simple question mark, and if you'd like to, you can change the placeholder image by putting in a different .png file with the same name. Bear in mind, however - it must be 127 pixels wide and 150 pixels high to fit properly.
The only time this requirement will increase is if new features are added, or if you choose to use the inbuilt .exe logo extraction. Whilst this feature doesn't draw up very good quality logos, the option is there if you do not want to find another picture to use as the logo for the application.
Nothing. I don't charge for App Tray. Why would I? It solves a common annoyance, I'm not going to charge for that! :P
