mmbot/addsticky [channel] [embed | message] [string]
Here's an overview of each of the arguments, their accepted values, and their purpose!
This argument accepts either mention of a channel using #channel, or the ID of a channel.
You should insert here the channel you wish the sticky message to show up in.
This argument accepts a string, and must equal either embed or message.
If it equals embed then your message will be displayed within an embed. Alternatively, if it equals message then your message will be displayed like any other user's message. I recommend choosing embed if you want your message to stand out!
This argument accepts any string, and must be at least 2 characters.
You should type here what you want the sticky message to actually say.
All you must do is type the command and send it, and maxbot will automatically deal with adding it to the database, and your sticky message will start being sent immediately.
At the moment, this will change, but you cannot delete sticky notes. If you would like to stop one from being sent, join my Discord Server and ask me to remove it - as I can delete the database entry for you. You will soon be able to delete them yourself, however the feature security around this functionality will have to be worked out first.
There is a rate limit imposed on this command, and the bot will not send more than three sticky message per server every 20 seconds. You're welcome to sticky notes in as many servers as possible, although the bot will not send more than three sticky notes to your server every twenty seconds. This is partly to reduce use of bandwidth, but will also help in not annoying people with notifications in your server enabled, and will also help to not break up conversations as much. Furthermore, the bot will not send the same sticky note more than once in 20 seconds.
As mentioned above, in Rate Limits - there is a limit to how often maxbot will send your sticky note after the most recent message that is older than the previous sticky note transmission by 20 seconds. If you have any questions regarding this, do let me know.
Yes. Becoming a MaxBot Premium server will knock the rate limit down to 5 seconds.
