Matthew 3:13-17
The Baptism of Jesus
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.
16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
The Trinity is a great mystery about God, even though the word Trinity is not even in the Bible...Trinity is a way that we better understand God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit...
When we read about Jesus being baptized, we can better understand that Trinity does have three Separate Parts...And how the Holy Spirit was not a part of Jesus before His baptism...We read that the Spirit of God was not with Jesus right before His baptism...When Jesus was baptized, heaven opened and then God sent Jesus the Holy Spirit...As Jesus comes out of the water after His baptism by John the Baptist, heaven opens and the Holy Spirit descends on Jesus...And separate from both Jesus and the Holy Spirit is God...After the Holy Spirit descended o Jesus, God spoke from the heavens and said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.”...All three were in different places and were distinct...The Holy Spirit came on Jesus and becomes a part of Him, after His baptism...
