The Poster Making Contest invites student-artists to creatively express mathematical ideas through visual art. Participants combine color, design, and imagination to portray this year’s themes—reflecting how mathematics connects with creativity, hope, and everyday life. This event highlights artistic talent while promoting a deeper appreciation of mathematics as both a science and an art.
Participants must create an original poster based on the official Math Fair theme or sub-theme announced by the organizers.
Only one entry per participant is allowed.
Allowed materials may include:
Oslo/illustration board (specified size, e.g., 1/4 or A3)
Any traditional art medium (colored pencils, watercolors, acrylics, markers)
Digital artwork is not allowed, unless a separate digital category is specified.
Participants must bring their own materials; no borrowing from other contestants once the contest begins.
A fixed working time (e.g., 2–3 hours) will be given to complete the poster on-site.
No pre-drawn or pre-colored elements are allowed. All designs must be created during the contest.
Mathematical elements must be visibly integrated into the artwork (symbols, patterns, concepts, figures, etc.).
Entries must be neat, school-appropriate, and original—plagiarism or copying existing artworks results in disqualification.
Judging Criteria (suggested):
Creativity and Originality – 30%
Relevance to Theme – 30%
Visual Impact – 20%
Craftsmanship and Technique – 20%
Participants must submit their finished work before or exactly at the time limit; late entries will not be accepted.
Names must not appear on the front of the poster; identification is placed at the back only.
The top entries will be selected by a panel of judges, and winners will be announced during the awarding ceremony.
All participants must observe cleanliness, proper conduct, and respect for fellow artists and materials.
