The Damath Competition is a strategic, math-powered board game challenge where players combine the skills of checkers with the precision of mathematics. Each move requires computation, planning, and critical thinking, making Damath a fun yet intellectually demanding contest. Participants battle it out on the board, capturing pieces and earning points through correct mathematical operations—all while showcasing strategy, accuracy, and sportsmanship.
The competition is open to individual participants who will compete in one-on-one matches.
Standard Damath boards and pieces will be used, following official Damath rules.
A match begins with a coin toss to determine which player uses the black or white pieces and who moves first.
Players must make legal moves only, following checkers-style diagonal movement and capturing rules.
Each capture requires solving the corresponding math operation printed on the target board square.
Players must compute their scores accurately; incorrect computations may result in penalties or reduced points.
A time limit will be imposed per match (e.g., 15–20 minutes) to maintain fairness and program flow.
If a player cannot make any legal move, the match automatically ends.
Scoring is based on total points earned, not simply the number of pieces captured.
A facilitator will monitor each match to ensure rule compliance and score accuracy.
The player with the higher score at the end of the match (or after the time limit) will be declared the winner.
In case of a tie, a short tie-breaker challenge (mini Damath board or computation drill) will be held.
Players must demonstrate honesty, fairness, and sportsmanship at all times.
Winners advance in a bracket system until the champion is determined.
