CrossMath is a puzzle-based competition inspired by the classic crossword format—but with mathematical twists! Instead of words, participants fill in the puzzle using numbers, operations, and equations based on the given clues. This activity challenges logical thinking, computation skills, and pattern recognition as players complete interconnected math sentences across the grid. It’s math, logic, and puzzle-solving all in one exciting challenge.
Participants compete individually unless the organizers specify a team category.
Each participant receives a CrossMath puzzle sheet, which contains:
A grid with numbered boxes
Across and Down mathematical clues
Spaces to fill in numerical answers or symbols
Participants will have a fixed time limit (e.g., 20–30 minutes) to complete the entire puzzle.
All answers must be written clearly in the grid using the provided pen or pencil.
No calculators or electronic devices are allowed unless stated otherwise.
Clues may involve:
Basic operations
Order of operations
Equations and algebraic expressions
Number patterns
Logic-based math riddles
Answers must correctly satisfy both Across and Down clues, similar to solving a traditional crossword.
Participants may submit early if they finish before the time is up.
Scoring System (suggested):
1 point for each correct Across entry
1 point for each correct Down entry
Bonus points for completing the puzzle perfectly
If two or more participants tie, the earliest submission time will determine the winner.
Facilitators will check for accuracy, completeness, and clarity before finalizing scores.
No revisions are allowed after submission.
The participant with the highest score (or fastest perfect score) is declared the winner.
All contestants must demonstrate honesty and sportsmanship throughout the event.
