This workshop will be facilitated by Angus.
Feelings play a big role in communication. Emotional awareness, or the ability to understand feelings, will helps us succeed when communicating with other people. If we are emotionally aware, we will communicate better. We will notice the emotions of other people, and how the way they are feeling influences the way they communicate. We will also better understand what others are communicating to you and why. Sometimes, understanding how a person is communicating with us is more important than what is actually being said.
Have you ever tried to hide your feelings? It’s pretty hard for most of us to do. That’s because emotions don’t lie. Instead of trying to hide or ignore our feelings, we will focus on becoming aware of our feelings and the feelings of those around us in order to be improved communicators.

Please note: This workshop is part of MUC's response to a recent incident in our community where a post was considered to be problematic. We will be sharing information, and communicating about the issues that came up, but it is not the driving force/focus of the content of this workshop. The goal of this workshop, in part, is to establish a plan for addressing the dynamic of "different gears" and experiences in the group. Please ask any questions, or provide feedback if you have concerns.
