God Gave Jesus a NEW NAME After the Cross and Resurrection!
I woke up this morning with the Greek name “IESOUS” translated as Jesus in the New Testament on my mind to write a study on the NEW NAME that God gave to the Son of MAN, Jesus, AFTER the cross and resurrection.
Now, I had done a study on the new name of Jesus about a year ago called Dd-19. What does the LORD’S NAME in VAIN mean? And I learned that the phrase “the NAME of Yahweh” means far more than just the ACTUAL name of Almighty God the Father, the only true God.
In other words, the phrase “the NAME of Yahweh” also means that Almighty God the Father GAVE His human Son, Jesus, a NEW NAME after the cross and resurrection. And that NEW NAME of Jesus is Yah and also Yahweh our RIGHTEOUSNESS.
To say this another way, Yahweh gave His now glorified human Son His very OWN NAME, Yahweh.
So NOW, after the cross and resurrection, there are TWO separate Gods, two separate Lords, two separate Kings, two separate PERSONS, and two separate BEINGS, but their NAME is ONE.
Please read Zechariah 14:8,9
“And it shall be in (Or DURING) that day, (Referring to the 1000 year reign of Jesus, whom God made or set to be His King of kings and Lord of lords) that living waters (Speaking of the glorified saints who will have been given eternal life to rule and reign WITH Jesus as kings and lords under Jesus who will be ruling FOR Yahweh in the NAME OF Yahweh the Eternal King during the world to come for 1000 years) shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, (Prophetically referring to the unsaved remnant of Israel or the natural born Jews) and half of them toward the hinder sea: (Speaking of the unsaved Gentiles left alive in their mortal bodies after the wrath of God is executed by Jesus and the saints) in summer and in winter shall it be. (Meaning that the glorified Christians will teach the unsaved Jews and Gentiles year after year from generation to generation during the 1000 year reign of Jesus)
Zechariah 14:9. And the LORD (Yahweh) shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be ONE LORD, and His NAME ONE.”
Verse 9 does NOT mean that Jesus is Yahweh Himself. But rather, it means that Jesus was GIVEN all power and authority in his NEW NAME to rule FOR Yahweh his God and Father for 1000 years. The Son of MAN, Jesus, BECAME ONE in UNITY with his God and Father.
And at the coming of Jesus WE will become ONE with Almighty God the Father in the SAME MANNER that Jesus and the Father are ONE.
And we will ALSO be given the SAME GLORY that Almighty God the Father GAVE to His human Son, Jesus, according to John 17:16-22, which you can read on your own.
My point is that being ONE in the Bible does NOT mean one and the self-same BEING. But rather, being ONE means being one in AGREEMENT, one in purpose, and one in unity toward the same goal.
Now I want you to read the PROPHECY where WE will be GIVEN the SAME NEW NAME Yahweh our RIGHTEOUSNESS that Jesus was given after the cross and resurrection.
Please read Jeremiah 33:14-16.
“Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will PERFORM that good thing which I have PROMISED unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
Jeremiah 33:15. In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; (Speaking of God’s Messiah, Jesus) and he shall EXECUTE judgment and righteousness in the land.
Jeremiah 33:16. In those days shall Judah be SAVED, and Jerusalem shall dwell SAFELY: (Judah is a FIGURE of the church, and at the coming of Jesus, ONLY those who ARE in Christ will be SAVED and given eternal life to rule WITH Jesus over the MORTALS on the earth.
And the phrase. “Jerusalem shall dwell SAFELY” is speaking of the REMNANT of Israel being DELIVERED during the WRATH of God to go into the Millennial reign of Jesus in their MORTAL bodies.
There will also be left alive those of the Gentile nations who call upon God to be saved alive in their mortal bodies.
So basically, the world to come will be another age for both Jews and Gentiles to be saved and ALSO given eternal life at the END of the 1000 year reign of Jesus)
and this is the NAME wherewith SHE shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.”
Now, to compare Scripture with Scripture to support this interpretation that the feminine pronoun “she” is referring to the Church not only in this present world, but ALSO those who will be saved DURING the world to come, let us read Revelation 3:12 in its context.
Please read Revelation 3:11-13.
“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which you have, that no man take your crown.
Revelation 3:12. Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the NAME of my God, and the NAME of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my NEW NAME.
Revelation 3:13. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.”
This is AFTER the cross and resurrection and The now glorified Son of MAN, Jesus has ascended into heaven to be seated at the right hand of his God and Father. Jesus calls Almighty God the Father his God FOUR times in this one verse of Scripture.
And Jesus tells us that he will write the NAME of his God, which is the NEW NAME that God GAVE to him, Jesus will write upon us who OVERCOME, and that means that OUR name shall be called Yahweh our RIGHTEOUSNESS as well during the world to come.
But we all know and understand that just because we will be GIVEN the SAME NAME of Almighty God Himself, that does NOT mean that we will become ONE and the SELF-SAME BEING as Yahweh Himself.
It simply means that we will have the FULLNESS of the AUTHORITY of the Godhead dwelling in us the same as Jesus has been given the FULLNESS of the Godhead to dwell in him after the cross and resurrection.
Let us now read the PROPHECY of God promising to give His anointed a NEW NAME.
Please read Isaiah 62:2-5.
“And the Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory: and you (Son of MAN, Jesus) shall be called by a NEW NAME, which the mouth of the LORD shall NAME.
Isaiah 62:3. You shall ALSO be a CROWN of GLORY in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of YOUR God.
Isaiah 62:4. You shall no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall your land any more be termed Desolate: but you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah: for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married.
Isaiah 62:5. For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you: and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.”
This is a hidden prophecy speaking of the Son of MAN, Jesus, being MADE Lord and God after the cross and resurrection. And as a similitude, our Lord and God, Jesus, shall rejoice over us who overcome as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride and as a father rejoices over his children.
And when the BRIDE marries the BRIDEGROOM, the WIFE will take the SAME NAME as her husband. The wife becomes ONE with her husband to be in AGREEMENT as ONE.
Now, most Christians already know that the name Jesus is translated from the Greek word “Iesous” which means Jehoshua. The prophet Joshua is a SIMILITUDE of Jesus, according to Hosea 12:2, which we will read shortly.
For now, here is how E-Sword defines the Greek word “Iesous” that is translated as the name Jesus.

And the Hebrew ORIGIN for the name Jesus is Jehoshua also written as Yahoshua and the contraction Yehsua, which means the salvation of Yahweh or Yahweh saves. Here is how E-Sword defines H3091 that is translated as Joshua.

And the Hebrew name Yeshua is found 29 times in the Old Testament but is TRANSLATED as other words, or names in the KJV.

Total KJV occurrences: 29.
The Greek language uses the “J” sound in English for the “Y” sound in Hebrew. Hence the Yah in Hebrew is translated as Jah with the “J” sound, but the “Y” sound is equally correct seeing that the Hebrew pronunciation is Yah.
Since the King James Version only translates the Hebrew word “Yah” one time as “Jah”, then in this short introduction study, I will only quote Psalm 89:4.
So then, for now, let us look at the CONTEXT of this one verse of Scripture that has the Hebrew word Yah (H3050) in it that is actually transcribed as the NAME Jah in the KJV and as the NAME Yah in other translations of the Bible.
Psalm 68:4,5,17-21.
“Sing unto God, sing praises to His NAME: extol him that rides upon the heavens by His NAME JAH, and rejoice before him. (The NEW NAME that Yahweh gave to His human Son, Jesus, is Jah or Yah as it is transcribed in other translations of the Bible.
I say “transcribed” instead of translated, because sometimes the translators use the actual Hebrew word rather than “translating” it.
The now glorified Son of MAN, Jesus will be coming on clouds of GLORY to rapture the church and then EXECUTE the WRATH of Almighty God)
Psalm 68:5. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God IN His holy habitation. (The FULLNESS of the Godhead NOW dwells in the GLORIFIED highly exalted Son of MAN, Jesus, according to Colossians 2:8,9. So then, Yahweh’s holy habitation or His Holy Temple is His MESSENGER, Jesus, according to the prophecies in Malachi 3:1, Jeremiah 50:28, Isaiah 45:13, Acts 17:23-31, Mark 14:58, 1 Corinthians 3:16,17, and Revelation 21:1-3.
In other words, Almighty God the Father is now always WITH the glorified Jesus by His FULLNESS or power and authority DWELLING IN Jesus. And thus, Jesus will be ruling FOR Yahweh, in the NAME OF Yahweh, as IF he was Yahweh Himself.
But, Jesus will rule as God over the earth ONLY, and ONLY for 1000 years in order for God to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels BY the MAN who He ordained and raised from the dead, according to Acts 17:23-31.

…Psalm 68:16. Why leap you, you high hills? This is the hill which God desires to dwell IN; yea, the LORD will dwell IN IT for ever. (Compare the HILL to Psalm chapter 2 as being the Holy hill of ZION, which is called the CITY of the living God, the HEAVENLY Jerusalem called the NEW Jerusalem in Revelation 21:1:3)
Psalm 68:17. The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, IN the holy place. (In other words, Yahweh the Father will be DWELLING IN His Holy place, His Hill called Zion, or Sion, the CHURCH, and Jesus is the HEAD of his BODY. For you see, the children of Israel were so afraid of the voice of Yahweh that they ASKED to not hear His voice anymore lest they die.
But that was Yahweh’s PLAN all along, so that He could provide for them and the Gentiles a Saviour, a Lord, and a King.
And then, in Deuteronomy 18:15-19, Moses prophesied that God would raise up a Prophet like unto Moses who would be the VOICE of Yahweh to speak in His NAME.
Blessed is He who comes in the NAME of Yahweh. And Jesus is the FULFILLMENT of PROPHECY)
Psalm 68:18. You (Prophetically speaking of the now glorified Son of MAN, Jesus) have ascended on high, you (My Messiah) have led captivity captive: you have RECEIVED gifts FOR men; (Jesus RECEIVED from his God and Father all power and authority after the cross and resurrection to now GIVE the Holy Spirit of God, to baptise believers with the Holy Spirit, and to give eternal life, according to John 5:26,27, Matthew 28:18, John 17:2, Romans 1:3,4, Revelation 4:11, and Revelation 5:12.
This was part of the joy SET before the Son of MAN, Jesus, to ENDURE the cross, according to Hebrews 12:2) yea, for the rebellious also, (Speaking of pouring out of the latter rain of the Holy Spirit upon the remnant of Israel at the second coming of Jesus and during the world to come) that YAH God might dwell among them.
Psalm 68:19. Blessed be MY Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. (Or pause and ponder on this. Ponder on the FACT that Almighty God MADE His human Son, Jesus, both Lord and Christ AFTER the cross and resurrection, according to Acts 2:36 and many other verses or Scripture.
Pause and ponder on the FACT that the God of Jesus SEATED the now glorified Son of MAN on His throne at His right hand to be Yahweh’s Lord.
Ponder on the fact that one of the meanings of the Hebrew word “adony” means My Lord. Ponder on the FACT that Isaiah 9:6,7 prophesied that his NAME shall be called the mighty “EL”, translated as the mighty God.
And that prophecy will be fulfilled WHEN the government shall be laid upon his shoulders. Ponder on the FACT that the Son of MAN, Jesus, was GIVEN a NAME that is ABOVE every other NAME.
And at the NAME every knee will bow in the world to come and every tongue will confess him to be Lord TO the GLORY of Almighty God the Father, according to Philippians 2:6-11.
So then, Jesus is the GLORY of God, in that, God glorified His human Son to be made in the express IMAGE of the invisible God after the cross and resurrection)
Psalm 68:20. He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord (Or Yahweh the Lord or Yahweh My Lord) belong the issues from death. (Or belong the power and authority to GIVE eternal life to whosoever My Lord and Christ judges to be worthy to receive eternal life.
And that is why the prophecy in Psalm 2 warns us who will be made kings and judges of the earth to kiss the feet of the Son during this present world lest we perish from the WAY.
Kissing the feet means WORSHIP, according to Revelation 3:9. God commands us to HONOR His Son even as we HONOR the Father, according to John 5:19-30.
Always remember the Almighty God the Father Yahweh MADE His human Son, Jesus, His Lord after the cross and resurrection. And God prophesied to GIVE His Messiah or His Christ a NEW NAME.
And that NAME is ABOVE every other name. Therefore, that NEW NAME given to the now glorified Son of MAN is Yahweh, the SAME NAME as his God and Father, Yahweh.
And that is why I DISTINGUISH the NAME Yahweh when referring to the now glorified Son of MAN by highlighting it in BLUE)
Psalm 68:21. BUT God (Speaking of Almighty God the Father, according to 1 Corinthians 15:20-28, which is where the Almighty God the Father will put all the enemies under the feet of His Messiah, Jesus) shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goes on still in his trespasses.”
Now, most Christians can easily see and understand that God SET His Son to BECOME Yahweh’s King of kings, according to Psalm 2:1-12. They can even see and understand the God MADE or highly exalted His human Son to become Yahweh’s Lord and Yahweh’s Christ, according to Acts 2:36.
But some Christians have a hard time seeing and understanding that God PROMOTED the Son of MAN, Jesus, to the highest level of authority and power, second only to his God and Father.
In other words, they find it hard to see that Jesus being called God does NOT HAVE to mean that Jesus is one and the self-same BEING as God.
For you see, to THEM, if Jesus was a SEPARATE BEING from Yahweh the Father, and the Son of God is ALSO called God, then that would mean that Jesus is NOT Almighty God Himself. And thus, there would be two separate Gods. And to THEM, that would be POLYTHEISM, which the Bible forbids.
But what they have failed to understand is that God commands us to not have any other Gods BEFORE Him. So what does that mean? What does the word “BEFORE” Him mean in the LIGHT of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.
The Hebrew word translated as before means above, over, and against Yahweh. And Jesus is under and subject to his God and Father.
Satan is called the god of this world and Satan is AGAINST Almighty God. Satan wants to exalt his throne ABOVE the clouds to be like Almighty God.
Now, before Lucifer rebelled and made WAR against God’s throne, he was a good Elohim. And now, God is in the process of JUDGING Satan to dethrone him and PROMOTE another to be the God of the whole earth.
And that NEW God over the whole earth will be the now glorified Son of Man, Jesus. Please read the following studies.

Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become a Lord, a King, and a God, to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
