Passenger Plus is the mobile app for iPad and iPhone devices which is used by the air pursers and the flight attendants at Iberia airlines. The mobile app has been designed by the Apple+IBM team, and implemented by IBM iX. The microservices which support the mobile application are hosted at IBM Cloud and are integrated with several on-premise Iberia systems.
The app allows users to:
Have a wide overview about the flight.
Check the passenger's list and the passenger details, including food preferences, baggage information, special requests, special situations, frequent traveler information, and so on.
See connecting flights information and disruptions information.
Fill the in-flight reports and update the food inventory available in the galleys.
Report any incident related to the flight, the aircraft, the passengers or the staff.
Read weather forecast and alerts, and receive air traffic control announcements.
Check personal documentation due dates, like visa or passport caducity dates.
Work offline.
Collaborate in design workshops where app functionality is defined, with Apple and IBM designers, and Iberia key users.
Define the API which supports the app functionality and integrates with Iberia systems.
Support the app development team, located in Bangalore, India, and the services development team, located in Madrid, Spain.
Develop tests scripts for microservices automated testing.
Participate on bi-weekly follow-up sessions with customer and report progress, status and technical advice.
