The IAG Tech architecture team is in charge of defining the IT solutions for all the company requirement, including Iberia, British Airways and Vueling, between other airlines which are part of the IAG group.
Working as a member of the IAG architecture team, I was assigned to the "Connected Operations" program as the solution architect. In this program, several projects were technically leaded by me, and basically the objective was managing any disruption which can affect to any passenger, taking the required actions ont only in a reactive way, but also proactively, based on the data available in the data systems and on the business requirements.
So, the main modules which the solution defines and implements are:
A real time and near real time data processing module with Kafka and Spark Structured Streaming, hosted at AWS.
A dynamic disruptions detection and events triggering module based on the data processing results, hosted at AWS.
A business rules engine module based on IBM CloudPak 4 Automation product, specifically on the IBM ODM (Operational Decision Manager) software, in order to take real time decisions, hosted at AWS.
A complete new microservices platform, including devops pieces, hoested as AWS.
A no-code business services editor, hosted at Informatica iPaas.
A Mashery API Manager, hosted on Tibco Cloud.
Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Marketing, hosted on Salesforce Cloud.
A new catering management system, hosted on Touchpoint Global Cloud.
