As a Probationary Police constable, you are a level 4 or basic driver. this means you are not permitted to use your blue lights to go from A to be and may not use any of the associated legal exemptions. You may however use your blue lights to pull vehicles over or close roads. You may opt to do the Driver Standards Training which allows you to do A - B blue lights training as a PPC, speak to your Training Officer to do this.
Probationary police constables are to go out on patrol with other constables with the rank of PC or higher. This is now mandatory to ensure that probationaries are able to get advice from experienced officers which will help them in their training.
Probationary police constables are to NOT go out by themselves!
