This part of the ODP will ensure that you are well versed in the basics of being a fully qualified Police Constable.
Please see below for each section of the Basic element of the ODP
As an Officer you are required to know what Use of Force is, when to use force and to know what legislation is relevant to Police using force.
To be signed off as knowing your UoF you will need to demonstrate a Use of Force greater than putting a suspect in handcuffs, this includes, but is not limited to, tackling a suspect or having to use your Police Issued Batton.
The Use of Force you use must be legal and inline with legislation.
UoF is one of the easier aspects of the plan to be signed off on, remeber to use your 'Ask, Tell, Make' (A.T.M)
Creating an Incident Report is an integral part of being an Officer, it is what most of your arrests will result in having to write. Although these may seem mundane, they are a vitally important aspect of Policing.
Incident reports must be detailed as these will not only be scrutinised by a PIC's legal aid but they can also be used in Court should any charges or procedure be contested.
You should know how to create an incident report and follow the approved format, you must put all information in the report including all the metadata, such as, Linked Officers, either Linked Citizens or Linked Fingerprints (you can't have both), Linked Reports (if applicable) and all relevant charges.
This report must follow the 'Generic Report' template.
Once the report has been generated then you must link a Case File to the report if you have created one.
Metadata can not be added or removed after you have pressed save, the only things editable after this is the report itself and the report title.
Creating a Stop and Search Report must follow the above criteria but using the 'Stop and Search' template
Being able to issue a ticket is another core aspect of the ODP, issuing tickets is another thing you will do quite often, these are issued for the littlest thing such as minor traffic infractions to more major amounts for serious crimes.
Suspects will have 2 options to pay, either paying now or paying later within 14 days, failure to pay the ticket may result in some of their assets being seized by the Los Santos Police Service.
You will successfully go through the full process of issuing a ticket to a suspect.
Don't forget your 'now' caution, explain the payment options and what will happen if they don't pay.
