The dispatch system is used to track various dispatches/alerts/jobs that come in for police tasking. Additionally, this system also keeps track of all of the different callsigns across all emergency services:
Police
NHS/Fire
Gruppe 6
Park Rangers
The majority of dispatches that come through will be automatic, either from 'locals' making calls to us, from the ANPR cameras, or from property alarms. Some types of automatic dispatches you'll see are:
Reported drug deals
Reported gunshots
Reported disturbance (property alarms)
Watch list hit - a vehicle on the police watchlist has pinged an ANPR camera
Arrest warrant - a vehicle has pinged an ANPR camera whose registered owner has an arrest warrant
However, manual dispatches can be submitted from anyone with a mobile phone, and these come through titled as '999 calls'
You will also see 'Panic Alarm' dispatches come through - these are alerts that someone has hit their panic button, thus requiring immediate assistance.
This alert also includes the radio frequency on which the officer who pressed the panic button is.
Police receive alerts for panic alarms from Police, NHS/Fire, and Gruppe 6.
O: Opens the dispatch menu UI
I (while closed): Assign to latest dispatch
CAPS -> Unit Menu: Opens the unit menu
Right Click (on a dispatch): Opens a context menu with further actions.
You’ll see dispatches pop up on your screen at the top right as and when they come through.
Depending on the type of dispatch, each dispatch may differ slightly in information; for example, any ANPR pings will include vehicle details.
Opening the menu will show you all dispatches in two columns:
All Dispatches - This column shows all dispatches from newest to oldest; some of these may be old, therefore no longer applicable or resolved/completed.
Assigned Dispatches - This column shows any dispatches that have other units assigned to them. You’ll see the callsign(s) for the unit at the bottom of each dispatch.
The watchlist is what we use to temporarily track a specific vehicle via ANPR cameras without a need for a warrant - this applies to the vehicle not the registered keeper.
Once a vehicle is no longer needed to be kept on the watchlist, we are to remove the vehicle from the watchlist to avoid confusion.
When viewing the dispatch system, at the bottom, you will find a list of callsigns for Police, NHS/Fire, Gruppe6, and Park Rangers. The number to the right of each faction tells you how many people are actively on callsign for that faction.
RIGHT CLICKING a callsign will:
Open up a list of people on the selected callsign, then LEFT CLICKING a member of the callsign will tell you what radio frequency they are on.
Allow you to copy the plate of any linked vehicle to that callsign.
