Quest Battle: Shrines of Power
Description: The warring cults hide in plain sight, seeking to empower their minions, tricking others to channel magic into their shrines. Three shrines of power contain magic that the rival teams use to destroy their enemies and empower their people. Control the shrines, activate the magic, defend the shrines.
Setup: (Designed for about 25-30 people)
Two team bases spaced well apart (about 75 feet)
Halfway between the bases is a shrine (Resurrection). The Shrine should be about 8 feet across, and contain a Relic, that can be wielded safely. (Suggestion: Stuffed animals)
Thirty feet to the left and right of the central shrine are two more shrines (Lightning and Death) with similar Relics.
LOS-walls near the side shrines will restrict access, each favoring a different team slightly
Teams: 1:1
Each team spawns at a base on either side of the field
Ideally 1 reeve per shrine.
Spawn Timer: 40 seconds - Half count.
The Three Shrines:
Each shrine has a small Relic that can be empowered in the shrine. Empowering the relic requires an incantation of Empowering 1 to Empowering 10 (10 seconds). You cannot take the relic out of the shrine.
When a Relic is empowered, you can cast its spell. This requires holding the relic above the head in a free hand and loudly incanting the appropriate spell. Spells: Resurrection, Finger of Death, Call Lightning.
When you successfully cast a shrine spell on a target, they become Cursed. After casting the spell, the relic is no longer empowered, and must be dropped.
Casting a shrine spell on your own team member within the shrine gives you one Shrine Point, necessary for winning. After casting the spell, friend or foe, drop the relic.
If you die in the shrine, please step out to the nearest exit. This is for safety, and does not count as moving.
To Win: Highest number of shrine points in 20 minutes
