To the residents of Wyvern's Spur and honored visitors,
Once again, the state of the Duchy is such that the populace are willing to give my hand the reins. While in the past, I've taken hold of the Ducal sceptre for defense against aggressive, violent incursions of monstrous, spiritual, or martial nature. This time, once again, the turmoil is enough that the people of Wyvern's Spur have tasked me to step forwards.
Me.
An Assassin.
Corruption has set in, twisted the minds and bodies of our people, and assault the land itself to devour it's strength. Cults arise. Wild-minded folk stalk the magical beasts in our realm, slaying them and eating their power. Shadow-souled madmen whisper about the darkness of the open sky and stain the leylines with blood. Single-minded zealots wield light and hate both without compromise to destroy anything they see wrong.
At great cost in blood, iron, and coin, the leaders of these corrupted cults are barred and buried. Their less organized minions and cultists are still a threat, do not let them find a hold. We are planning a campaign to reclaim our land from the madmen who hold it, after my reign begins.

Rising of the Cults: During the years, many darker powers try to get their hooks into a powerful and rich land as the Duchy. Some seek power and others claim divine right. I find a righteous crusade no healthier for the land than a plague of demons nor a supernatural earthquake. Long sealed away, dark forces are gathering might and trying to break their chains.
