Customization Notes: The Bjornaer is much more comfortable with animals than with people, and may think of him or herself as just as much animal as human, thanks to the combination of Blatant Gift and Inoffensive to Animals. Ways of the Forest should be changed to a terrain appropriate to the actual heartbeast; a wolf is assumed for the example. Both Major Flaws can be changed freely, and while Deficient Form (Ignem) is very common in House Bjornaer, there is no particular reason for your character to have it. Note that Quiet and Subtle Magic allow the magus to cast in his heartbeast form without any penalty.

This spell allows the caster to speak with a human voice when shapechanged into the form of an animal. The caster must be in animal form to cast this spell because it targets the vocal capacity of that form, and must be able to cast this spell with no words or gestures (usually a –15 penalty), but while under its influence,may use his own voice without penalty to spellcasting.

A Wolf of Daggers (MuAn 15)

Despite the name, there are no metal parts in this spell. This spell causes the caster - if an animal - to transform its fur or feathers into sharp spines, similar to a hedgehog's or porcupine's. This does +3 damage to anyone grappling the target, and can do significant damage on anyone botching an attack against them. Additionally, the spines will break off, like a porcupine's on anyone damaged by them.

Licking the Wounds (CrAn 10)

This simple spell infuses the caster, in animal form, with a healing flush of life. This gives the caster a +9 bonus to their recovery roll for wounds, though it must be cast daily for the duration of the recovery to be effective.

Packleader's Snarl (ReAn 15)

With a fierce snarl, the caster can convince any group of social animals - pack or herd - that they are in charge. Oftentimes, this few minutes of control is enough to establish a longer control, such as leading a wolf-pack or controlling a stag-herd, assuming the caster is of appropriate stature (Such as a wolf, to lead a pack.)
