LLR runs on a set of mechanics, inspired by Dungeons and Dragons but altered heavily to fit the theme and gameplay of the group. Many mechanics may seem familiar but are likely to work a little different than in classic DnD so pleace make sure to have thorough read through the following mechanic guides to get a good understanding of how things work around here.

Use art and writing to build your character's story!

Contribute to events, prompt lists, or set out on a quest of your own design! The mod team will be keeping an eye out for ambitious character activity, and community projects will almost always have our support (though note that in character support must be earned in character :p). Characters must be depicted participating in an event to be considered present for it! If you do not complete event prompts yourself, then your character canonically was somewhere else, out of commission, or otherwise uninvolved in the event activities.

On rare occasions, your character may be involved in a customized DnD style campaigns called Quests, where they'll receive a ton of moderator focus and crazy activity in a short amount of time. Quests are deadlier than normal activities, but with great risk comes great reward, and the potential to change the world.

Joining

Currently the group can be joined by invite only. The admin team needs to invite you into the group for you to be able to create an official character. In the future, we may open things up more through designated opening phases, as the world and mechanics evolve. Character approvals take a lot of admin time!

For those who get in:

Each player gets two player character slots to start.
Additional Character slots may be purchased at a later time
You start with no items or currency
Players can make NPCs when they're OPEN.
NPCs can be used by anyone, and may be used to progress event content or be killed by the admin team freely.
Character death is a real risk in the New World. Player characters will not be killed lightly but be aware that your actions may have consequences.

Character Creation

Characters may be stored in any format of your choice, as long as its easily accessible online without signing up on a website or downloading any files. We recommend Google Sites, Docs or similar, since it's free to use and gives a lot of creative freedom (that's what we're using).

Tracking your Progress

You'll need a way to keep track of all of your stats, skills, powers, and money! The DMs will set up your character's spreadsheet when you are accepted to the group. The base templates can be viewed below if you'd like to go ahead and familiarize yourself with them.

Don't worry about making a copy yourself! There is custom code that needs to be programmed for your character. Only the mod team can get that set up.

WARNING: You will need to provide a gmail address to tie your tracker to, unless you want everyone with the link to have editting permissions. Send these via a dm or something. No need to post your gmail in the group chat unless you really want to.
