By using certain literacy strategies, social studies teachers can continue to focus on content, but also differentiate lessons and types of reading comprehension habits. To gain a better understanding of the texts and materials that are introduced, students need to be able to not just read but comprehend the meanings to later analyze and apply their learnings.
