Discussion Webs in Use -
How to Fit into a Social Studies Classroom:
Can be used for introductions to debates or to have students see events or points of view from multiple perspectives. In a middle school classroom, one could use discussion webs for getting students comfortable working in pairs and sharing group ideas out loud to a classroom. I would use it also in high school level classes as a way to help assist students in pulling important key points from texts while reading to be able to take an opinion based on facts. Many students can have opinions on events and sides of history once they know about the details. So using the web, it helps them find details and learn more in depth facts to use in articulating their thoughts for a discussion.
