Prep Time:
Depends on depth of use. 2-5 minutes for one-page guide. Less time if you have students take notes on printed articles/texts.
Connections Chart in Use -
How to Fit into a Social Studies Classroom:
Connections charts fit into a social studies classroom very well in how they can help the student relate to the concepts and history that they are learning. Sometimes remembering facts and concepts in social studies classrooms can be difficult if students can’t relate to the content. So if they can relate the text to themselves on different levels and then relate the text to other text they know and then to current events, they will be able to remember more as they have related it to multiple levels. One could use it specifically in primary documents, pictures, and events from the past.
