Position Overview
The Associate Vice President (AVP) Internal plays a key role in supporting the internal operations and community-building efforts of the undergraduate society. Working closely with the Vice President Internal, this position helps coordinate First-Year Committee (FYC) activities, graduation planning, and internal council development. The AVP Internal is ideal for someone passionate about mentorship, event planning, and fostering a cohesive, inclusive council environment.
Duties of this role are as follows:
Assist in First-Year Committee (FYC) hiring process by attending FYC hiring interviews to guide First-Year Representatives
Attend bi-weekly general council meetings and FYC meetings
Assist VP Internal in planning meetings and general council social events
Assist VP Internal in planning and executing Graduation events, along with the Graduation Coordinators
Assist VP Internal in guiding the FYC through their events
Be in charge of development workshops/events for the LFS|US general council
Skills & Qualifications
Strong organizational skills and time management
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Proven ability to organize and execute workshops, socials, fundraisers—managing logistics, timelines, and volunteer teams
Builds consensus, delegates tasks effectively, and fosters an inclusive environment where all committee members feel empowered

The role of the Graduation Dinner Coordinators is to organize the formal Graduation Dinner for LFS Undergraduate students. If you like event planning, being involved in the LFS community, and are graduating (or are very close!) this position is for you.
Duties of the role are as follows:
Work closely with VP Internal and AVP Internal to plan and execute both the winter graduation event and the summer graduation dinner
Plan the graduation events, including venue, catering decorations, event capacity, budgeting, promotional needs
Work with the Communications portfolio to promote the final graduation event
Volunteer at events hosted by LFS|US: LFS Week, Career Month, Wednesday Night Dinners, etc.
Attend biweekly general council meetings to provide updates on progress
Skills & Qualifications
Third-year standing and above preferable, but not mandatory
Strong organizational skills and time management
Excellent communication skills.
Proven ability to organize and execute workshops, socials, fundraisers—managing logistics, timelines, and volunteer teams
Creative, adaptable approach to event planning

Duties of this role are as follows:
Represent the voices of the first years in LFS
Hire members for the First-Year Committee (in partnership with VP Internal and Senior Advisor)
Lead the planning and hosting of 1 major social event and 2 Wednesday Night Dinners
Maintain efficient and thorough communication with each other as well as the advisors at all times and actively oversee the participation of committee members
Attend weekly general council meetings and First-Year Committee meetings
Volunteer at events hosted by LFS|US: LFS Week, Career Month, Wednesday Night Dinners, etc.
Requirements:
Register as an undergraduate student in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems with a first-year standing
Receive nomination signatures and academic approval as stated in the LFS|US Code of Procedures
To be hired in Term 1, Fall 2025

Represent the voices of the first-year students of the Society
