Position Overview
The role of the AVP Communications is to assist the VP Communications in managing social media, empowering work of portfolio councillors, and streamlining communication within LFS|US and LFS-affiliated groups.
Duties of this role are as follows:
Assist VP Communications in overseeing and ensuring support for portfolio councillors’ responsibilities
Assist VP Communications in planning portfolio meetings & socials
Support VP Communications in the management of LFS|US social media account
Maintain consistent inter-portfolio communication with other VPs, AVPs, and councillors to address their feedback and requests
Act as liaison between the LFS|US and LFS-affiliated groups for spotlights, features, and/or collaborations on LFS|US social channels
Serve as a non-voting Councillor, contribute to portfolio meetings, and attend bi-weekly general council meetings
Skills & Qualifications
Graphic Design and Social Media experience
Photography/videography skills and editing (e.g., Adobe, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
Knowledge in creating TikTok videos is an asset
Strong organizational skills and time management
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Proven ability to organize and execute workshops, socials, fundraisers—managing logistics, timelines, and volunteer teams

Position Overview
The Marketing Chair is responsible for leading LFSUS’s online presence across all platforms. This role ensures our visual brand is cohesive, our content is engaging, and our channels reflect the strategic direction set by the VP/AVP Communications. The Marketing Chair supervises a team of social media coordinators and graphic designers, and works collaboratively to elevate the Society’s reach and engagement.
Duties of this role are as follows:
Work with graphic designers and social media coordinators, to ensure all graphics, social media posts, and visual elements adhere to LFSUS’s brand guidelines
Identify content or workflow gaps and step in directly (e.g. drafting posts, creating simple graphics, troubleshooting platform issues) to maintain consistency and momentum
Schedule social media coordinators and graphic designers for LFS|US events to update the Society’s social media platforms
Ensure coverage logistics: confirming attendance, platform assignments, shot lists, and submission deadlines
Track and report key metrics (reach, impressions, engagement rates) to VP/AVP Communications
Support VP/AVP Communications in brainstorming marketing strategies to increase online engagement
Lead social media coordinators to execute strategies and campaign ideas from the VP/AVP Communications into concrete content plans
Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience managing social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok)
Strong organizational skills and time management
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Familiarity with social analytics tools (e.g., native platform insights, Sprout Social)
Experience in photography and video editing is an asset (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, CapCut)
Basic proficiency in graphic tools is an asset (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)

The role of the Social Media Coordinator is to develop marketing strategies to effectively promote all council events and programs.
Duties of this role are as follows:
Develop and execute creative marketing strategies to promote LFS|US events and initiatives
Design and coordinate marketing materials (e.g., social media content, posters, reels, polls) that resonate with the LFS student community
Plan and manage content calendars and marketing timelines for all LFS|US events
Regularly create and publish engaging content on LFS|US social media platforms
Follow the guidance and direction of the Marketing Chair to ensure all promotional efforts align with overall branding and strategy
Collaborate closely with the Webmaster, Graphic Designers, and fellow councillors to align on branding and campaign goals
Assist with live event promotion by capturing and posting real-time content (e.g., stories, live updates, behind-the-scenes) at major LFS|US events such as LFS Week, Career Month, and Wednesday Night Dinners
Actively participate in bi-weekly General Council and Communications Portfolio meetings
Requirement:

Duties of this role are as follows:
Design graphics for social media, posters, and other digital materials using Adobe, Canva, InDesign, or similar tools
Turn event details and marketing ideas into easy-to-understand, visually appealing designs
Complete design requests within two weeks or sooner if needed
Balance your creativity with the needs of the audience to make sure designs are effective
Keep all designs consistent with the LFS|US brand and style under the lead of the Marketing Chair
Work closely with the Social Media Coordinator, Marketing Chair, and other team members to make sure designs fit marketing plans
Help create content for live events when needed
Volunteer at LFS|US events like LFS Week, Career Month, and Wednesday Night Dinners
Attend bi-weekly general council meetings and Communications Portfolio meetings
Skills & Qualifications
Good eye for design, including layout, fonts, and colors

The role of the Webmaster is to manage and maintain the LFS|US website. This includes keeping content up to date, responding to inquiries, and working with the team to ensure the website is clear, accessible, and visually consistent with LFS|US branding.
Duties of this role are as follows:
Regularly update the LFS|US website (via Wix) with upcoming events, council meeting minutes, announcements, and other important content
Lead the revamp of the website layout and structure to improve user experience and reflect current branding
Respond to messages submitted through the website’s contact form and coordinate with the appropriate executive as needed
Work closely with VP/AVP Communications, Social Media Coordinators, and other councillors to add or revise content and web pages
Ensure the website is clear, up to date, and mobile-friendly
Attend bi-weekly General Council and Communications Portfolio meetings

Work closely with the Communications Portfolio and event coordinators to understand media needs for each event
Take engaging, appropriate, and well-composed photos and videos at LFS|US events
Edit and watermark content when needed, ensuring consistent quality and branding
Create scripts, storyboards, and short promotional videos for events, programs, and facilities
Upload and organize all photos into a shared Google Photos album, helping to build a long-term gallery for marketing and website use
Support the creation of content for social media, including TikTok videos and Instagram Reels
Volunteer at LFS|US events such as LFS Week, Career Month, and Wednesday Night Dinners
Attend bi-weekly General Council and Communications Portfolio meetings
