Position Overview
The Associate Vice President (AVP) Finance plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity and transparency of the undergraduate society. Working directly with the Vice President Finance, this position supports budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting across all portfolios. The AVP Finance ensures funding is accurately allocated and recorded, and helps build accessible financial systems that enable student-led initiatives to thrive.
Duties of this role are as follows:
Plan budget for each portfolio according to past financial reports
Input grants and subsidies from Qualtrics to excel forms
Support financial coordinator with budget planning for portfolios
Attend general council meetings biweekly
Assist VP Finance in creating financial reports with full transparency each term

Position Overview
The Finance Coordinator is an entry-level supporting role to the VP Finance and AVP Finance. Individuals in this role are expected to help document financial transactions, record KPI’s, design financial reports, and help plan financial development sessions. This role is designed to provide experience into UBC undergraduate society finance operations and familiarity with handling financial matters.
Duties of this role are as follows:
Design fully transparent quarterly reports to be presented to other council members.
Meet with different portfolios to collect KPI data.
Help plan financial development sessions for LFS students and council members.
Assist with reimbursements, grants and subsidies.
Attend general council meetings biweekly and additional meetings as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications
Interest in developing financial skills and further promotion in the LFS|US.
Strong organizational skills and time management.
Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to organize and execute workshops, socials, fundraisers—managing logistics, timelines, and volunteer teams.
Willing to use shared drives and Microsoft Excel.
Experience with finance, budgeting, and accounting is an asset.
