One of the oldest nations, Fellara was previously part of the Five-Star League, the first confederation of city-states to form. Like the rest of that League, Fellara had access to some of the best equipment from the colony ship, enabling it to achieve a lead in medical technology. The events of the Kodan War led to an almost isolationist outlook in the nation, but also to the recognition that the rest of the world would always covet what they had. As a result, they have brokered their neutrality by offering top-notch medical care and mercenary arrangements to anyone who can afford it. The Fellarans maintain a small, but highly-trained militia, and keep a war chest for hiring mercenaries should the need arise.
Regions and Settlements:
Black Crag Mountains
Marama's Fell - a logging outpost that once saw brutal war crimes during the Kodan War
Fella - capitol city, premiere medical center on the planet
Whitewall - growing city built specifically as a site for international diplomacy and business meetings
Harlech - formerly Centauri, of the FSL; industrial city of refugees and ne'er-do-wells, home of the mercenary guild
Gethamane - mining settlement built into a curious cave formation
Military Forces:
The Guardians - elite honor guard of Whitewall and its visitors, sometimes called to other settlements as counter-terrorism and hostage rescue experts; their hardsuits and mechs are painted a distinctive white, with goldenrod cloaks or sashes, though they possess more muted variants for stealth work
The Militia - nominally comprised of every able-bodied adult citizen, who are required to attend training camps every 3 years, and maintain community armories; practically comprised of the top-performing members that volunteer for 5-year terms of service; primarily operate as infantry or vehicle crews, with a small mech corps
Notable Figures:
The Syndics - elected duumvirate that decides top-level policy; they must be from different cities, so Whitewall's construction has proven a periodic loss for Harlech; there is a growing movement to add a third Syndic, ensuring Harlech's representation
