Minegarde CART
The Close Action Rescue Transport (CART) is a mainstay support vehicle of the Minegarde Handler Corps. Utilizing a high, wheeled suspension and sturdy armor, the CART can carry a full squad of dismounted and hard-suited Hunters, or a single Size 1 mech, as well as basic supplies for their operations. More typically, the CART acts as a supply truck attached to a mech unit in the field, and can recover downed units after or during a battle. Because of this, being "carted" is a thing of derision in the Hunter Corps, the mark of an incautious pilot. CARTs must rely on Hunter escort or their own escape-and-evasion systems, as the vehicles spare no space or weight for armament.
Minegarde Dismounted Hunter Team
A team of full-fledged Hunters, in Combat Harness and Interface Net (CHaIN) hardsuits, armed with idiosyncratic anti-armor weapons. They are fast, make good use of terrain, and are trained to support one another. As part of their heritage, they lavishly decorate and customize their hardsuits in mimicry of the megafauna of the Minegarde region. Unlike their ancient predecessors, who relied on megafauna materials to enhance their utility hardsuits, these modern decorations are merely cosmetic additions to advanced combat armor.Â
Voi Conscript Squad
Hardy peasants and lower-class citizens from the rural settlements, dragged into the town square and issued their equipment and orders. Some have had the luxury of drilling alongside the local streltsy, but most are trying desperately to learn how to soldier before the shooting actually starts. Their poor morale and unit cohesion result in low stats across the board.
Streltsy Infantry Squad
Professional soldiers of the Grand Duchess, forming the stolid backbone of any Varangian force. They wear body armor beneath their distinctive red greatcoats, which can shift color to winter or summer camo patterns on command. Frontline infantry squads may carry either shoulder-fired lasers or crew-operated mortars as their anti-armor weapon.
First-Strike Kholops Team
Paramilitary forces in the direct employ of a noble, these kholops have been rigorously trained and lavishly equipped by their master. They wear combat hardsuits with active camo, and specialize in attacking from Hidden ambush positions. Due to their cost, they try to disengage once they start taking return fire.
