Linea aerea / overhead line
Il mio plastico è FSE ed a trazione diesel.
Però ho creato molte locomotive elettriche.
Allora per poterle fotografare sto facendo unpiccolo tratto di diorama che ovviamente ha la catenaria.
Ho realizzato il tipico palo di linea con le due mensole (interna ed esterna) ed un pezzo di catenaria in CAD.
Even though my layout is for diesel traction, I have been interested in realising an overhead line for a small diorama to fotograph my collection of electric engines.
A section oftypical Italian overhead line was modelled in CAD [1].
Then I printed on my FDM printer. To avoid use of support material each pole was split in two symmetrical parts.
Me le sono poi stampate in casa con la mia stampante a filo. Per evitare materiali di supporto ho stampato ciascun palo in due metá simmetriche che poi vanno incollate insieme.
Il risultato mi sembra buono. Ed è soprattutto a costo praticamente zero.
I think is not bad at all, considering that literally costs nothing!

Three-phase overhead line
Ho riprodotto i pali della catenaria trifase per costruire un piccolo diorama per le mie locomotive trifase.
Italy had once a very extended 3-phase electric railway network.
This needed a overhead line with 2 conductors. As I am reproducing some of the very interesting locomotives of this network, I decided to reproduce also the overhead line. The lines are not different from the CC type. The poles have instead a double set of insulators.
